Children of Heroes and Bitcoin ATMs in Ukraine — reviewed 4 October 2026
This article was created in September 2023 and discussed cryptocurrency fundraising after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Its $70 million reference was a historical donation claim; it does not establish donations processed through Bitcoin ATMs or funds received by Children of Heroes. No current donation total is verified here.
Children of Heroes’ own announcement dated 25 August 2023 confirms a cryptocurrency fundraiser with Cointelegraph to support children who lost one or both parents. That announcement does not identify Ukrainian ATMs as fundraising terminals or establish a partnership with their operators. Use the foundation’s current official information for charitable giving.

The original displacement, casualty and removal figures were historical claims drawn from different reports. They are not current measurements and should not be combined into an ATM-service claim. Read the foundation’s dated reports for its work and support needs.
The old 6,000-child, $4.8 million and 50-children-per-day references were dated reporting claims. They do not demonstrate current totals, future capacity or contributions from Bitcoin ATM transactions. The foundation describes long-term support for affected children; check its current reporting directly.
The original claim that these ATMs offer direct charitable-donation functions is not verified. Current Bitomat instructions restrict ATM purchases and sales to the customer’s own wallet. Do not enter a charity’s or another third party’s receiving address at the ATM. Verify charitable-giving options with the foundation through its official site.
The original Odesa example linked the Bitcoin ATM at TC Galereya Afina. This is location information, not proof of a donation terminal. Read the Odesa guide and confirm the selected device’s current service before a visit.
The original article also linked Lviv and Kharkiv. These pages do not establish a charitable collection service or that every listed device operates today. The FAQ section explains ATM procedures.
For Kyiv, the original article linked Ocean Plaza. Confirm device access and service separately; the link does not verify a donation function.
Use the existing fee breakdown and check the selected device’s complete quote. Buying or selling cryptocurrency is a separate transaction from a foundation donation.

For an ATM problem, contact the team through the current operator channel. Questions about a donation belong with the foundation; no round-the-clock response is promised here.

The foundation’s current giving page provides charitable-payment information and says tax benefits depend on the donor’s country and applicable rules. The original statement that all donations are tax-deductible was too broad. This ATM article does not determine eligibility or endorse a payment processor; confirm the foundation’s current instructions and relevant tax treatment.
The four entries below reproduce the original September 2023 location/hour examples. They are archival, not current opening-hour guarantees or a donation-terminal directory. Use the current Ukraine catalogue linked below, then the selected device page, before travelling.
For Children of Heroes, use the foundation’s official current giving information. For an ATM visit, check the device independently and follow the operator’s own-wallet requirements. Neither a venue listing nor this historical article proves that ATM fees or proceeds support the foundation.
